Even though the project is over, the game is not perfected by any means. Balancing is really tough and never seems to end up in a satisfactory place, so here are the changes I would make if I had more time to reprint the cards:
Belief:
- Nerf Apotheosis massively.
- I think Belief managed to slip through the cracks a bit here, and no one (including myself) picked up on just how overpowered Apotheosis was. The fact that Belief can sit in a corner and rack up damage on every enemy simultaneously, while exploiting the additional effects of the attack, is uncompetitive. I’d fix this by making it a single target attack, or by reducing its area massively to 5x5 or 7x7.
- Come up with something more interesting for Divine Intervention
- Divine Intervention isn’t that good, nor does it really get usage because it requires Belief to be eliminated. I think I could do something much more interesting with this.
Apocalypse: Alpha:
- Buff Assimilation
- One of the issues Apocalypse: Alpha has is its frailty. Apocalypse: Alpha is a Conjure that won’t get to the late game healthy, thus its Lifeline needs to circumvent this to a greater extent. I think Assimilation could benefit from being buffed to 20 damage of healing to really enhance Apocalypse: Alpha’s chances of survival in the late game.
Sigil:
- Rework Terror Incarnate
- I realised too late that Terror Incarnate is literally just a higher damage version of Assimilation. Since Lifeline Protocols are supposed to be unique to the Conjure, I don’t think having two be almost identical is exactly a good thing.
Spectre:
- Buff Cyber-Shade
- I think that the focus on how overpowered Spectre’s mobility was has left it in a state where its mobility focussed kit is no longer as good as it should be. It’s Lifeline is interesting, but it does leave a lot to be desired. The health reduction drawback is a bit too constricting, thus I think exchanging the drawback for something else would be beneficial. Maybe reducing Dissipates damage output whenever Cyber-Shade is used would be a fair exchange.
